Oùcécap’s take
Luxembourg is only 489 km from London: aim south-east, at 113°. From Montreal, the gap is clear: a flat map would put it due east, at 86°, but the compass says 55°, north-east, because the shortest route crosses Ireland and England. To place it among its neighbours, Brussels is 187 km to the north-west and Bern 316 km to the south.
