Oùcécap’s take
From New York, you aim at Bangkok to the north, at 7°, where a flat map says 100°, east: the shortest route passes near the North Pole, then drops down through Siberia. From London, the map would point you south-east, at 115°; the compass says 73°, east, 9,533 km away. And the antipode of Thailand’s capital lies 325 km from Lima.
