Oùcécap’s take
Turn east to aim at Bucharest from London: 102°, 2,091 km away. From New York, a flat map would put it due east, at 87°; the compass says 49°, north-east. To place Romania’s capital, remember that it shares the latitude of Belgrade and Ottawa, and that Sofia is 297 km to the south-west.
