Oùcécap’s take
Nothing could be simpler from New York: Bogotá is due south, at 180°, 4,016 km away. From London, though, a flat map would have you aim south-west, at 233°; the compass says 260°, west, 8,501 km away. And if you dug straight down through the Earth beneath Colombia’s capital, you would come out 202 km from Jakarta.
