Oùcécap’s take
Zagreb and Montreal sit on the same latitude. So from Montreal a flat map would have you aim due east (90°), but the compass says 54°, north-east, 6,560 km away, across Ireland, England and Germany. From London, aim east, at 112°, 1,340 km away. Landmarks: Vienna is to the north, 269 km away, almost on the same meridian, and Ljubljana 118 km to the west.
