Oùcécap’s take
On the Danube, Budapest lies east of London, at 100°, 1,452 km away. From Montreal, a flat map would put it due east, at 88°, but the compass says 51°, north-east. To place it, Bratislava is 163 km to the north-west; and, much further away, Ulaanbaatar sits on the same latitude.
