Oùcécap’s take
From London, Bratislava lies east, at 100°, 1,289 km away; from Paris, which shares its latitude, it is due east, at 89°. From New York, however, a flat map would have you aim at 83°, east; the compass says 49°, north-east. A landmark right next door: Vienna, also on the Danube, is just 56 km to the west.
