Oùcécap’s take
Cairo, on the Nile, shares a meridian with Kyiv and Harare, and a latitude with Kuwait City. From London, aim south-east, at 121°, 3,511 km away. From New York, a flat map would have you aim at 97°, east; the compass says 58°, north-east. Same gap from Montreal: 101° on the map, 59° on the compass.
