Oùcécap’s take
Brasília is not due south of New York but south-east, at 151°, 6,835 km away. From London, it lies south-west, at 227°, 8,793 km away. From Saint-Denis on Réunion, a flat map would have you aim due west, at 273°; the compass says 250°, west but further south. A landmark for Brazil’s capital: it shares the latitude of Lusaka and La Paz.
